Windows XP Password Reset Guide:
I am strugglling a bit here the script runs various different MSI installations, Altiris client, Symantec and several VBS scripts which have our domain addmin credentials in them. I need to be able to continue to make changes to the script by mounting the aik winpe folder on my local machine. If you make a PE disk for me I can’t edit it and that doesn’t really help me. The environment is based on the standard Vista AIK kit the only changes made to the directorys are the addition of the pwdreset.exe and pwdspy files to system32 and editing of the startnet.bat file. You need to install the aik to create the environment…
Replace the original files with the new files.
When the WinPE starts up, you will see Windows Password Reset software as follow. You can get the message “Begin to reset windows password…” if it run correctly.
If our program does not show any message, go to system directory and double click pwdreset.exe to run it.
If you get the message “Begin to reset windows password…” and “End to reset windows password “, reboot computer to see if the password has been reset.
1. Copy the pwdreset.exe and pwdspy.exe to the PE’s system folder where startnet.cmd in. If have trouble to copy pwdreset.exe and pwdspy.exe to to system folder, please let me know. If the startnet.com file is not in system folder, tell us too.
2. In startnet.com file, add command: pwdreset.exe, as follow:
